The Granby Cultural Council works to make arts and cultural experiences accessible to everyone in our community. We support programs in the arts, humanities, and sciences that bring people together, encourage creativity, and offer opportunities to learn and participate close to home.
As a volunteer town council, we help distribute funding provided by the Mass Cultural Council to programs that benefit Granby residents. Our responsibilities include reviewing grant applications, awarding funds based on local priorities and state guidelines, and overseeing the reimbursement process to ensure that funding is used as approved.
Artists, educators, performers, and organizations can apply through the annual grant cycle to offer programs serving our community. We provide guidance on the application process and welcome ideas that reflect the interests of Granby residents.
Alongside grantmaking, we organize community activities and support local creativity. Recent examples include our first free outdoor movie night at Cindy’s Drive-In and awards recognizing student artists at Granby Junior-Senior High School.
The Council generally meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Granby Public Library. Residents are welcome to attend, share ideas, and learn about becoming a volunteer member. Please check posted meeting notices for dates and times.
