Dear Resident:

This letter is to inform you that as of July 1,2020, single stream recycling will no longer be an option for the Town. The current contract for the processing of recyclables expires June 30, 2020. The operator of the Springfield Materials Recycling Facility, Waste Management, and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) negotiated a new contract effective July 1, 2020. As there were not enough communities to sign up for single stream recycling, the service is being stopped as of July 1 ,2020. As a result of this, the Town must go to dual stream recycling.

In order to give residents enough time to adjust to this change, the Town will be implementing dual stream recycling starting Monday, June 1, 2020. Starting that week you must separate paper and cardboard from bottles and cans.

On the back of this letter, you will find a Town of Granby Collection Schedule for the period June 2020 through August 2021. This schedule shows what recyclables are to be put curbside on which week.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Selectboard's Office at 413-467-7177.
